Earthbending is the manipulation of solids

Waterbending is the manipulation of liquids

Airbending is the manipulation of gases

Firebending is the manipulation of plasmas and energies

maybe you already realized this, but whatever, maybe i’m just slow

oh, wait, i just realized waterbenders can manipulate ice, which is a solid. hmm. well, other than that, this makes sense.
